Symposium "Effizientes Sintern von Keramik"
Das Sintern keramischer Bauteile bestimmt maßgeblich deren finale Eigenschaften, stellt jedoch zugleich einen erheblichen Kostenfaktor dar und trägt wesentlich zu den CO₂-Emissionen in der Keramikherstellung bei.
Im Symposium „Effizientes Sintern von Keramik – Potentiale und Herausforderungen“ präsentieren wir innovative Sinter-verfahren, die im Vergleich zum aktuellen Stand der Technik deutliche Vorteile bieten. Die Vorträge zu den Sinterverfahren sind eingebettet zwischen einer werkstoffkundlichen Einführung und praxisnahen Beispielen zur Effizienzsteigerung in der Keramikindustrie. Es folgt eine Diskussionsrunde, in der aktuelle Herausforderungen und Lösungsansätze vertieft werden. Das Programm soll Sie dazu anregen, neue Möglichkeiten für Ihr Unternehmen zu erschließen.
Nutzen Sie die Gelegenheit, mit den Vortragenden ins Gespräch zu kommen, wertvolle Kontakte zu knüpfen und sich mit anderen Keramikherstellern über relevante Zukunftsthemen auszutauschen.

Für die Veranstaltung wurde ein Zimmerkontingent im „Hotel Bartmanns“ Haus (5 Einzelzimmer, 99€ inklusive Frühstück) sowie im „Gasthaus Zum Schwan“ (5 Standarddoppelzimmer zur Einzelnutzung, 89€ inklusive Frühstück sowie 5 reine Einzelzimmer, 75€ inklusive Frühstück) reserviert. REFRACTORIES – Key Technology and its Applications
This seminar is aimed both at experienced refractory users or employees of refractory manufacturers who want to get to know other sectors, and at beginners in the refractory industry or in the industrial sectors in which refractory products are being used.
The seminar consists of two consecutive parts, each running 1.5 days. In the first part, the basics of raw materials, production, characteristics and installation of refractory materials and products are taught. The different classes of refractory materials and their typical representatives are presented. In the second part, experts from the process industry report on the specific applications of refractory products in the most important industrial sectors, on the materials used and on the special challenges involved with the change to climate neutrality in industrial production.
Participation fee: 1.090 € (employees of companies that are direct members of DFFI: 990 €).

XIXth Conference of the European Ceramic Society
The XIXth Conference of the European Ceramic Society will take place from August 31 to September 4, 2025 at the International Congress Center in Dresden, Germany.
On behave of the European Ceramic Society ECerS, the Deutsche Keramische Gesellschaft DKG, and Fraunhofer Institute of Ceramic Technologies and Systems IKTS, it is our great pleasure to welcome you to the beautiful City of Dresden.
Planned every two years, the ECerS Conference focuses on cutting-edge research and product developments in a wide range of ceramic-related areas. The program provides an opportunity for scientists, researchers, engineers, and industry leaders from around the world to present and exchange their latest findings in ceramic science and technology.
The XIXth ECerS Conference is divided into 14 symposia covering all relevant aspects of ceramic science and technology. It specifically addresses the most important challenges of our society, such as sustainability, energy transition and closed cycle technologies. Moreover, the 100th annual meeting of DKG is fully integrated.

Sintering 2026
The International Conference on Sintering is a world-wide forum dedicated to the science and technology of sintering, which is an essential step for the processing of ceramics and powder metallurgical parts.
This will be the tenth meeting in a series that started in 1995 as a continuation of a famous cycle of conferences on Sintering and Related Phenomena organized in the USA in the middle of the 20th century. The previous nine conferences have been held in Pennsylvania State University, USA (1995, 1999, 2003), Grenoble, France (2005), La Jolla, USA (2008), Jeju, Korea (2011), Dresden, Germany (2014), San Diego, USA (2017) and Gifu, Japan (2023).
The technical program will cover all aspects of sintering through invited and contributed talks, poster presentations. Students, researchers and faculty members as well as professionals from industry are cordially invited to attend.
We look forward to welcoming you in Aachen, the westernmost city in Germany bordering Belgium and the Netherlands. Aachen is an international, vibrant city with Roman roots and once privileged residence of Emperor Charlemagne.
